Who the hell is Oli Egler!?

LOOK BOOK FW2017/2018

My little personal collection of "the best of" FW2017/2018 - Enjoy...

I am not that kind of person, who stays faithful to one style. After I spent 4 years at the reception desk, I said HELL NO to the black ‘n’ white every day combo – never again!

I love mixing the formal and punk, minimalism with some bold accessories, maximalism, retro and vintage, casual … Fashion nowadays is not obligating anymore, it is offering and “inspiring”…

“I’m gonna put on this purple scarf, cause it is gonna match my purple sweater” – na-ah! That 2000s trend is waaaay gone! You can combine what ever you want without purchasing whole new wardrobe every season. No, you really don’t need ANOTHER sweater that looks exactly the same!

Fashion comes in cycles, everything comes back one way or another, so to “update” few “old pieces” you don’t need much.

I am a fan of a “slow fashion” – shop less items with better quality, keep them in a good conditions (no, silk doesn’t belong to the washing machine next to your black jeans and bidet towel!) and wear them for many and many years! It is economical (in a long distance perspective) and nobody will look just like you. Think how many exactly same hoodies are being sold on a daily basis in the fast fashion retailers… and what are the chances to meet the “same one”  on your neighbor.

Create your own style, your own fashion “super combo” ..  and if you still think you have nothing to where, this is where I come in 😀

Lady in Red

Whole collections of Max Mara, Oscar de la Renta, Fendi, Givenchy are dedicated to the “red blooded woman” this season. More is more, so don’t be afraid to cover yourself form had to toe.

Out of Space

You like disco ball? You gonna! Another season we are “playing the cosmonauts” – with full length dress from Chris Kape, or puffy jackets from Glenna Martense or Y/Project. Mugler dedicated almost entire collection to this color, with pleated materials, which brought silver “back on stage”..

Speaking of puffy jackets – it’s still on! Rei and her Comme des Garcons made a full puffy collection, Vetemens a Kenzo joined the party with latex and cropped jackets, while Tod’s decided to stay more “businessy” with leather.

Burgundy and velvet

Yes, there is an official winner of the most “sexy and elegant material” – velvet. Combined with this color? O! MY! GOD! Formal and informal! Costumes, gowns and sport clothes : Gucci, RL, Alturaza, Erdem and Alberta Ferreti.

If you don’t like burgundy, first of all, shame on you! Second of all – choose a different color from Dior, or Zuhair Murad – yellow, sky blue, dark blue ..

Retro plaid

Forget about the „modest“ black’n’white vichy square and put on the most retro piece you can find! Gray blazer-dress from Stela McCartney or Nina Ricci, minimalistic -„curtain“ dress from Loewe, colorful  Missoni, ocher Chloé – that looks a little bit like my grandmas couch in a summerhouse from the 70’s…

Victorian romance and polka dots

Romantic elegance is the trade mark of Galliano, Valentino and even Kenzo this season, this year also thanks to Erdem in cooperation with HM, proving, that romance and flowers are not just for “lovely ladies”! As for the polka dots – Chanel must be turning in her grave seeing them being mixed with stripes and other prints. Well, now it is “hot AF” according to Monse, so wear it as a crown!

„Politically incorrect“

Mix of cowboys, military, indians (or is it native americans?!) and  „folk“ – all kind of elements like military stripes, fringes, leather and fur. Don’t you just love it!?!?

Belt it up!

80’s are back, and so are massive belts. Put it over aaanyything – sweater, fur, coat, jacket or blazer – here is some inspiration from – Balmain, Louis Vuitton, Isabel Marant, Alexander McQueen, Veronique Leroy and others…

Maxi denim and oversize sweaters

“The longer the better” this time – midi is on … and denim – that has never left the catwalks anyway!  Take a look at A.P.C., Y/Project, Diesel Black Gold, Yeezy and Tommy Hilfinger. Masive, oversize knit have been brought by Joseph, Sonia Rykiel, Fenty Puma, Acne or Philosophy.

Details :

Barets, „matrix“ glasses, fury bags  – genuine or faux (which is becoming more and more popular within fashion community – voluntarily and “not really”), beads and pearls and all those beautiful details with the “retro tint” baskets, belt-purse (which became such a huuuuge trend now) and fishnets, socks ‘n’ sandals and massive statement details (earnings, rings and bracelets)

Just mix together what ever you want and make your own style 🙂 !!!!!

Which one is your fav?
